Awesome Signature of the Day: Sure, you’ve heard that Oregon’s own out-of-work cabinet installer Douglas Allen Smith, Jr. had his name legally changed to Captain Awesome in honor of his favorite Chuck character.

But that’s not even the most awesome part of that story: “Deadspin has acquired the official petition for change of name that Captain Awesome, the Oregon man formerly known as Douglas Allen Smith, Jr., submitted to the Circuit Court of Lane County in late September.” Check out the newly-Christened Captain Awesome’s legally-recognized signature.
